Southern California Winter Music Festival

INTRODUCTION

The 2022 Southern California Winter Music Festival is the second of three non-competitive festivals offered by the SDNC. The SDNC is proud to offer young musicians valuable experiences in a supportive atmosphere. All proceeds support the SDNC programs.

$30, Elementary

$45, Intermediate/Advanced

$30 per ensemble member

RULES AND GUIDELINES

  • The SoCal Winter Music Festival is open to all teachers and contributing members of the San Diego North Chapter.

  • The divisions are as follows:
    Solo Division: 1-2 pieces from the contrasting periods: Level: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced-Applicants will be judged by their own music, not a competition between performers.

  • The time limit is 5 minutes.

  • Soloists are highly encouraged to perform from memory. It is not required.

  • Ensembles are permitted to perform with music

  • An evaluator will write comments and rate each student as Superior, Excellent or Good (based on a 100 point scoring method)

  • All participants will be given a medal and a certificate for their performance with a rating.

 

ENTRY FEES

Entry fees will be paid via check.  See the application form below.

Students must be entered (and have a fee paid) for EACH Division (solo/ensemble)

  • Entries as an Ensemble member: $20 per student

  • Entries as Soloist: $25/Elementary; $40/Intermediate and Advanced
